This Apollo Granite Granite Worktop Has A Fabulous Sa Bon Accord Pattern With A Flamed Finish. Dimensions: 1000 X 800 X 20mm
Granite work surfaces are a very popular choice and bring timeless beauty into every kitchen. Granite is one of the hardest materials on earth, formed millions of years ago beneath the earth's surface. Worktops made from granite are extremely hard wearing & won't scratch under normal use and are easy to clean & maintain, making them ideal worktops for kitchens & bathrooms. Apollo Granite SA Bon Accord,Flamed & Brushed finish adds an immediate WOW factor to even the smallest of kitchens. Granite is a naturally occurring igneous rock, with variations of both grain and colour. Natural granite worksurfaces not only look very attractive and exude quality; they are naturally hardwearing and will withstand the rigours of everyday use. As Granite is a natural stone, pitting and veining will occur in random distribution of swirls. Subtle variations in shade or areas of contrast will also appear within the body of the worksurface. Almost any decor in your kitchen can be enhanced by the addition of granite. Consider Granite as an attractive addition alongside other materials, as there is a huge range of colours available to complement any colour scheme. Its heat resistant qualities make it ideal for installation near a stove or any surface that requires extreme heat. General Specifications: Headwearing: Extremely hardwearing, granite is one of the hardest materials on earth, rating 7 on Mohs hardness scale and a granite worktop can last a lifetime. Granite is a coarse grained, crystalline igneous rock primarily composed of Quartz and Feldspar. It forms from slowly cooling magma that is subjected to extreme pressures deep beneath the earthʼs surface. The molecular structure renders Granite very stable and rigid, it will not bend or flex. Cleaning: Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials. All spills should be cleaned up immediately, as it is always easier to wipe up a spill than to have to deal with a dried-on stain. For daily cleaning we recommend a solution of warm water with a drop of washing-up liquid. Soak a cloth in the solution, wring out until almost dry and wipe the down the worksurface. If your worksurface has an integrated sink, clean this in the same way as the worksurface. Heat: Though Granite is heat resistant, NEVER place hot pans, dishes or utensils directly on the worksurface (or into an empty sink). Hot items may mark or damage the surface. Always use a heat protection pad or trivet (with rubber feet) for hot cookware, or leave cookware to cool on the hob first. Avoid pouring boiling liquids directly into sinks without also turning on the cold tap. Staining: Although Granite is one of the least absorbent stone's, it can still be stained by grease, wine, coffee, nicotine, fruit juices and other strongly coloured substances. Granite worksurfaces are sealed upon installation and must be resealed every 6 months. Any spillages must be removed immediately as delay could result in permanent damage. Scratches: Granite is highly scratch resistant but not scratch proof. Small scratches of less than 25mm in length are considered '˜within tolerance' and are considered acceptable. Always use a chopping board, as granite will blunt your knives and can leave scratch. Thermal Expansion: Due to thermal expansion granite can expand up to 1mm per metre. A gap of at least 3mm should be left at each end of the worktop when fitted and filled with decorators caulk. When granite is joined to other materials (such as glass, steel or wood) an elastic type of adhesive, for example polyurethane, is required for expansion. Pitting and Veining: As Granite is a natural stone, pitting and veining will occur in random distribution of swirls. Subtle variations in shade or areas of contrast will also appear within the body of the worksurface. Fissures, Blemishes & Natural Flaws: Some level of what could be referred to as spots or blotches are inherent in the material. Small fissures are a common feature in any Granite and these natural flaws were present at the rock formation. Internal radius: Internal profile edges on all edge detail other than bevel edge must have a radius of at least 60mm. Bevel edges don't have this constraint as they are hand finished.
