Apollo® Slab Tech is a solid surface worktop, which offers the warm and seamless look of standard solid surface with certain colours also having the added benefit of the appearance of natural stone. Apollo® Slab Tech is easy to install and is available in modular blanks, or as bespoke installation. General Specifications: Cleaning: All spills should be cleaned up immediately, as it is always easier to wipe up a spill than to have to deal with a dried-on stain. For daily cleaning we recommend a solution of warm water with a drop of washing-up liquid. Soak a cloth in the solution, wring out until almost dry and wipe the down the worksurface. If your worksurface has an integrated sink, clean this in the same way as the worksurface. Heat: Do not pour boiling hot water directly into solid surface sinks, and where constant boiling hot water taps are fitted, please ensure they are not left running directly into solid surface sinks. Hot pans should never be placed directly on any worktop and always be placed on pan rests, platters or something similar. Ensure that pans used on gas hobs are of correct size. Heat producing appliances that sit beneath the worktop, must have an aluminium foil membrane placed on underside of worktop. Staining: While most tough stains can be buffed away, a level of care and maintenance is required, as spills should be cleaned up immediately. Accidental spills of strong chemicals, (e.g. paint stripper, brush cleaners, metal cleaners, oven cleaners, cleaners containing methylene chloride, acid drain cleaners, acetone based nail varnish removers etc.), should be washed away immediately using plenty of soapy water to avoid damaging the worksurface. Scratches: Apollo® Slab Tech is scratch resistant but not scratch proof; the use of chopping boards and/or pastrymates is recommended. Dark, heavily pigmented colours will show scratches, dust and ordinary wear and tear more readily than lighter, textured forms. Care should be taken not to slide rough based items over the surface. Thermal Expansion: Due to thermal expansion Apollo® Slab Tech can expand up to 1mm per metre. A gap of at least 3mm should be left at each end of the worktop and filled with decorators caulk. When Apollo® Slab Tech is joined to other materials (such as glass, steel or wood) an elastic type of adhesive, for example polyurethane, is required to let parts expand and contract freely. Repairable: Apollo® Slab Tech can be easily be repaired. Using an ordinary abrasive cleaner and a scouring pad the surface may be fully restored to its original appearance. Hygienic: Apollo® Slab Tech is a non porous material and is naturally resistant to mould, bacteria and mildew.
